Hey guys,

On two games I have for Dolphin (Super Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker) the backgrounds in-game are very blurred. This still occurs when I turn anisotropic filtering on high (16x).

Examples:
Wind Waker

That's normal for both of them, as both original games had that blur in the distance by Nintendo.

No they don't. Well not as bad as what I was getting it anyway.

This may not be the same issue I had long ago but I have a thread about it here:
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-new-revision-pixelation-issue

The resolution at the time was:
EFB to RAM and Enable Cache (I was using DX9 at the time though)
i5-8600K @ 4.5 GHz
GeForce GTX 1080 SC2
ASRock Z370 Taichi LGA 1151
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB 2400 DDR4
SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 500GB PCIe SSD
Indigo Xtreme TIM
Phanteks Pro ES614P Black Steel Case
EVGA SuperNOVA 750W PSU
Windows 10 64-bit

RachelB: That's a completely unrelated issue relating to XFB, which the game Parlane was playing evidently requires.

ChiefManyHorses (that's a cool name, I want it): Check "Scaled EFB Copy" in Graphics > Enhancements. It'll make the blur look nicer, at least in Wind Waker. Have a comparison shot: http://cl.ly/HLVj http://cl.ly/HLJc

haddockd: That's an old regression I noticed once where Scaled EFB Copy wouldn't work right on EFB to RAM. It was fixed long before 3.5. https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=5472
