That would be a reasonable solution I think. Somebody wanna tell the mods?

If you use a Debian-based Linux system like Ubuntu, and you want to have the VERY newest SVN version of Dolphin without having to wait two weeks, you can run the following commands at any time (I personally compile my Dolphin builds in my home directory. To get to this you can type cd ~).
First, you need to install dependencies if you don't already have them: sudo apt-get install subversion scons g++ wx2.8-headers libwxbase2.8-0 libwxbase2.8-dbg libwxbase2.8-dev libwxgtk2.8-0 libwxgtk2.8-dbg libwxgtk2.8-dev libsdl1.2-dev nvidia-cg-toolkit libxxf86vm1-dbg libxxf86vm-dev libxext6-dbg libxext-dev libglew1.5-dev libcairo2-dbg libcairo2-dev libao2 libao-dev libbluetooth-dev Now change to the directory you want to checkout the files from SVN to (such as ~). cd [directory path] Checkout from SVN using this command: svn checkout http://dolphin-emu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ dolphin-emu-read-only Change to the newly created dolphin-emu-read-only directory: cd dolphin-emu-read-only And finally, assuming you have all needed dependencies, compile the source code into a Binary file using scons: scons Easy as pie! 04-11-2009, 09:06 AM
No hurries. We've got all life in front of us. It's not like games will become much more playable in 2 weeks. And would be respectfull to not say what devs should do or not imo

I agree with you Ziltoid. I think it's a trivial argument. The devs can and will do whatever they want. If people feel somehow betrayed that they don't get stable releases every other week, then don't use it. I feel like some people are trying to be the boss of the dev's and tell them what they should do. I find that rather comical.
I don't think the dev's are sitting there thinking "oh no, it's been over 2 weeks and we haven't released an offical stable version! Maybe we should wait until we have a feature worthy version to release. No wait! It's the principle of the matter, and we must act fast!" 04-12-2009, 05:20 AM
Fair enough but I agree with KHRZ that it would be nice to at least recieve a post bi-weekly on the News page telling us what the devs are up to. Its in their best interests that we get excited about their work.

putain mais je dis pas que c'est intéressant d'avoir une version inachevée toutes les 2 semaines, je dis juste que PAR PRINCIPE on n'annonce pas une sortie bi-hebdomadaire si on ne la respecte pas
