Another noob guide?

Hi, after hanging out here for a time now I decided to register myself and become a part of the community, a lovely community if I may say.

So, now to my problem. I can't connect my Wiimote (first gen, no nunchuck) to dolphin. My computer finds it under devices and installs it and everything but I cant quite get my head around how to use it as a Gamecube controller? (if that's even possible) Maybe I need to get the nunchuck?

Anyway, I've been reading this thread https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-noob-friendly-how-to-connect-wiimote-to-dolphin-use-wiimote-in-gamecube-games but can't seem to make it work due to the missing pictures and somewhat out dated info, since it's written a year ago.

Maybe someone can update it? Or give me an explanation (step-by-step if possible) on how to really connect the wiimote to my pc and dolphin emulator.

Kind regards.

First, is it a wii remote plus? I assume not from what you describe.

Anyway, you want to use a wii remote as a gamecube controller without a nunchuk o_O. Well uh, ok. I'd highly recommend getting a Classic Controller Pro if you are going to play gamecube games with wii stuff, but at the very least you ned a nunchuk for the analog stick. So get one or both. Then go through Post 5 of his guide. If you have any issues post here and I'll help out. I still use my classic controller with glovepie from time to time.

EDIT: Oh, his guide sucks. No analog. Well... For analog, you need the wiimote and nunchuk or classic controller, and you need glovepie and ppjoy. Find a wiimote+nunchuk or classic controller script, and install ppjoy and set up the controller according to what you see in the script (a button is button 5 or whatever, on and on). Then run the script in glovepie, pair up, and set it up in dolphin. Once I know more of what you want and you can elaborate some, I'll try to get you some scripts and more detailed help.

Oh awesome, really appreciate the answer. I'll go to my parents addict and get the controlls as soon as I can to try this out.

In the mean time, while I only have a Wiimote, is there any way to check if it works? Like installing a nes/snes emulator and try to play with the single wiimote? Would that work in the same way you describe?

Will def. hit you back for more info, if thats okay.

Tried this out with a random script and finally my PC finds my wiimote inside of Dolphin, tried WindWaker but as you said (and I guessed) I need the nunchuck to play.

First step is to connect the wii mote to the computer via bluetooth. The internet and this forum is full of help on this topic. Then open up dolphin and go to the wii menu. You can test with any wii game.

or

get a wii app test program big list here

I was responding to "In the mean time, while I only have a Wiimote, is there any way to check if it works?" Perhaps I took the meaning of it, incorrectly.
