For the longest time, I've had an issue with the widescreen hack on this game, pretty much as described in this old thread
Basically, the issue was the widescreen hack stopped working after a particular revision. For reference, here is how it looks in 4:3 mode: And when changing to auto/16:9 mode: As you can see, both the 2D and 3D assets are stretched out; it used to be that enabling the widescreen hack would return the 3D assets to thier proper aspect ratio, while maintaining use of the entire screen. At some point, this just stopped working, and no matter what settings I used in the GFX config it stayed stretched. Well, I've just found the fix for it. On the game selector pane, right click the game and select "Properties" - you should see this box: as it says above, you need to DESELECT "Enable Widescreen" Doing this allows the widescreen hack to do what it's supposed to: I dont know how long that setting has been there or how long its fixed the widescreen hack, but it works as of 4.0-1609. I hope this helps someone out there enjoy this AMAZING game to it's full potential EDIT: just found this exact solution posted on a thread back in 2010. Infinite facepalms are happening right now. 05-21-2014, 04:54 AM
Are you telling me that this Wii game, which all support widescreen, still needs the Widescreen hack? That makes no sense, but somehow your screenshots show it to be true...
I'm fairly certain this game shouldn't need the widescreen hack though, unless the developers were unbelievably lazy. 05-21-2014, 05:38 AM

No shit. Thanks for the heads up! I'm glad the Widescreen Hack works for this.

Can someone confirm the Watery Cave B20 issue is fixed in the latest revision?
I went there expecting to have to mess with the settings but it seems to work fine as of 4.0-1609 with the normal JIT Recompiler. 05-22-2014, 05:06 AM
There's been a ton of JIT work; go to an older version and see if it's still broken and then you'll know for sure if it was fixed.

Hey all,
I dont know if this is the correct place to report it, but I am stuck in the game kinda early. For context, I'm on 6th day and have just used the red bell. The emulator crashes to desktop whenever I use the hammer inside the Garmon Mine. This is very repeatable and happens everytime. I can swing the hammer everywhere else and swing other tools inside the mine without problems. So, at this point I could ignore the mine and keep on the game, but I fear I will eventually ores or something before I unlock the other mine (and I dont know if that will happer or no, anway). Has anyone encountered that problem?
sharing my settings for Dolphin 5 and a few things to note:
* no audio glitches * no graphics glitches * game runs at 30FPS * disable Idle Skipping fixes cutscenes but the FPS goes down to 15 FPS * disable Pal60 Mode adds a few more FPS * for 16:9 resolution set Wii and Graphics 16:9 plus Widescreen Hack -> fixes border glitches and blue screen missing objects * Anti-Aliasing to None with Direct3d 11 * i just don't like Per-Pixel Lighting |
