I'm playing full screen now and I don't have FPS overlay so I haven't checked it in a while but when I started playing with windowed, that's the speed I was getting. In some levels FPS does drop to 45 or even below so that's 75% for me too, world 1-2 for example. x64 probably makes some difference and maybe you're running it on a higher resolution than me? I'm not sure why it wouldn't run nearly as well for you. Does graphics card make any/much difference as far as emulation goes?(01-08-2011, 06:33 AM)DSlayer Wrote:Unbelievable, i'm using a Q6600@3.0ghz but I'm only reaching 75% of full game speed. Also, here's one more video of world 1-4. This one runs pretty much at perfect speed, wish all the levels worked this well. 01-09-2011, 06:43 PM
@killijin: Nope, the videos can't be fixed at the moment, especially the sound.

The game runs 60fps for me most of the time, although there are occasional dips that bring it down to 50-55ish.

I have read through this whole thread and tried basically everything I thought would help me get this game running at full speed. Regardless of setup my speed doesn't seem to change between 800x600 and 1080p. I am guessing this means my processor is too slow?
Desktop Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz 1024MB GeForce GTS 250 (EVGA) 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz If it is my processor do you think an overclock would allow me enough power to run the game at full speed or will I need to wait until I have a quad core? Thanks 01-10-2011, 06:21 AM
yeah, it's your CPU...however, a quad won't help you much cuz Dolphin can only utilize 2 cores. But overclocking might help you.

Thanks, I didn't know the bit about not supporting more than 2 cores. Do you think if the cores were running at 3.4ghz each I would have any problems? 01-10-2011, 07:44 AM
As you can see in my sig, I have 3.4 GHz and the game is nicely playable, but it's not at a constant 60FPS. For that, I guess you'd need 3.6 - 3.8 GHz.

The game runs usually at 90%, but it stutters a lot. I mean it stops for 1 second or less in random intervals. The same happens with other games, like Naruto and Rock Band 2, but Donkey Kong IS the worst scenario. Somehow unchecking "accurate texture cache" reduces the stuttering. Is it the SVN I'm using? (r6788 64bits) Ok, I've already tried using 2.0 and got the same problems.
On the advanced tab, besides "show fps" I've also enabled OpenCL. I disabled "Audio Throttle". My PC specs: P2 965 BE 3.4GHz / 4GB RAM / RHD 4670 1GB / Win7 64bits. Oh, I know it's not possible to run at 100%, but at least getting rid of the stuttering would be awesome. Thx in advance. EDIT: I uploaded a video

yeah, you shouldn't get such bad stutters. try disabling pixel depth, native mipmaps, and pixel lighting (I don't think these are resp. for the stuttering but they are not needed either), and on advanced tab enable DList Cache (there's only one gfx glitch on the save game screen with this) and disable OpenCL.
If all that doesn't help, see to it that you don't have a lot of background programs running and do an anti-virus check.
