I mean, I have already paid for the damn thing and is still sitting there broken in my attic...and the stupid bios is legally mine now.
But, if for some reason I want to use a bios in an emulator, the only legal way would be to buy another console and dump it from there.
So in the end I paid for two BIOSes for the right to use only one BIOs that I've already paid for long ago.
Or, I'm charged twice the price for the right to use one single product.
You can call it whatever you want but I call it unfair and stupid. Turning the issue around...is it legal to be charged twice for one product?
And yes, hold your horses, the law is law and all that bull.
I'm not gonna download a BIOS and I don't need one.
And all of this raises another interesting question:
What if...after I buy the second console from someone, I found out that he has already dumped it's Bios and he is using it on an emulator?
Please don't tell me that I have to buy a third console just to be in sync with the law.
If you buy one console, dump the BIOS and it brakes or get's sold you have to delete the BIOS to not violate any laws.
Simple, you cannot keep what's not yours anymore if you sell it, and if it brakes then tough luck.
You want a new BIOS you have to buy a new console and dump it from.
If you buy a console from a friend and caught him dumping the BIOS, he have condoned piracy so have you if you dump it again from that console as long as he keeps his copy of the BIOS.
However if he deletes his copy of the BIOS from the console, you can dump the BIOS again.
There can't exist 2 copies of a BIOS when there only is but one console.
The same follows with other stuff, games, movies, music, cars, jackets.
It's all common sense and logic.
There is no shortcuts, the laws is there to follow.
