[Virtual Console] Secret of Mana

I wonder... An old game I own, so I just thought, why not boot it within Dolphin? Well... Emulation seems broken. Just a black screen. The game select menu does show itself in it's full colors through. In any case, the wiki page states to disable EFB Copies to Texture Only to fix the stretched output, but that does nothing to solve the blackness. Switching video backends does not seem to help much either. So, anyone has been able to successfully emulate this game and if so with which settings?

It worked for me last time I tried it. The blackness is what replaced the stretching when we removed some hacks from EFB2Tex... it should work if you have EFB2RAM on from the start.
Ohh well. I managed to boot the game with the proper display. Disabling the Store EFB Copies to Texture Only indeed solves the blackness. I was fairly certain I disabled it prior to booting the game. Would there by any chance there could be an issue that the setting is not properly overwritten when booting a different game? It also seems that using the following line for the JCLE01.ini file (the game ini) does not properly overwrite the setting for EFB Copies to Texture Only (chances are that I am doing it completely wrong here):
[Video_Hacks] EFBToTextureEnable = False If I could get it to work, then I could just leave Store EFB Copies to Texture Only enabled for the rest of my game library. I guess it should disable Store EFB Copies to Texture Only, close and reopen Dolphin (when a different game had been booted prior) and then boot the game and afterwards enable Store EFB Copies to Texture Only. Well, anyway thanks for the help. |
