I wanted this setup just for skyward sword. I know they say the infrared bar isn't required, but you'll need it for this game (or any game that requires you to move a cursor on screen really). New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart plays just fine without one, but Super Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword seem to require it. If you are in a pinch, if you setup two small candles in front of your screen apart from each other roughly the same size as the infrared bar in a dark room, it will be good enough to get through the calibration in Skyward Sword and move through the menus. Obviously not a long term solution but it will get you started. Probably not too good for sword fighting though. I figured I would share this with others since I saw a lot of people wanting to play Skyward Sword, and I wasn't able to find good information on the requirements of the IR bar...

This is a great day! Thanks to all involved, dolphin emu developers, warnimon, cjalbert, Toshiba for a decent bluetooth stack, anybody else I forgot because it's a long-ass thread.
My device shows up as Nintendo RVL-CNT-01 only, there is no -TR. I still had the same problems as everyone else. It's a black wiimote with built-in motion plus I found on ebay from a seller in China with phenomenal feedback rating. Got it for 17.96 US :3 I was immensely frustrated when I couldn't get it working with my cheap Iogear GBU221WM dongle. Previously I was messing with MotioninJoy and got everything workable except for the Move's motion inputs. The buttons and lightball tracking worked fine, just couldn't figure out how to handle the waggle and such. So I broke down and got a wiimote plus, at least it matches the rest of my stuff being black. Oh also my dongle didn't support one feature that MotioninJoy required, that may have been the issue perhaps. But maybe it was all for the best because these games WERE designed for the wiimote. Once again, thank you all. I registered just to thank you but it does seem like a great forum here! Love to play these games in full HD. 12-27-2011, 12:47 PM

Getting the same "only compatable with windows stack" message that Annihilator was.
Stubborn little thing. 12-27-2011, 03:19 PM
Would it be at all possible for someone to post a ground up tutorial or guide to get these working from just getting it out of the box to it working with dolphin?
I have this version of the wiimote and have followed some of this thread but I am getting confused as all hell. Explain it like you think I'm a five year old because when it comes to this stuff thats pretty much what I am. 12-27-2011, 03:40 PM
i agree. People are getting the new TR wiimotes for xmas and it'd be hard for some of us to understand all of what's been going on in this thread. Maybe someone could make a tutorial that shows us what you have all been doing so we can get in on some Skyward Sword too
possibly some download links or step by step guides in a sticky titled New RVL-CNT-01-TR Wiimote M+ 12-27-2011, 10:58 PM

No, mine was not from Xiaomei seller on ebay. It was someone else entirely and I can't find the item on ebay anymore :l They had 99.5% feedback rating so I decided to give it a shot.
I can tell you that the text does say "Wii" in big font, then under it "Motion Plus" is a slightly smaller font at the very bottom of the front face. The black jacket for the wiimote has Nintendo's logo and "Wii" on it. On the back of the battery cover, there is Nintendo's logo, too. It works great now with the fixes mentioned. I had to do some extra steps because my installation of Toshiba's stack was corrupted for one or two DLL files somehow. Had to repair them myself. I'm so glad I didn't give up when the install went bad for the third time. I'm sure in some weeks or so someone will figure out a much simpler fix that works for every one but for now, I can attest to the fact that the Toshiba stack works for my stupid cheap Iogear bluetooth dongle once you find the hardware ID and edit the inf. Huge props to the person who figured out that you could do that with Toshiba's stack and a generic dongle. You made this holiday season that much better!
