so how big are the isos for mk wii and dragonballz ?
since all my games are 4,5gb (dvd size) i wonder how you store it in the ram drive... ?!
mkwii is about 4.5.
I have 6 GB RAM, here, look at this when i make a 4.6 GB RAM disk My RAM usage will be at 94% and to my surprise my system isnt hanging! for Dragonball Z I dont know, because i dont own it . 07-08-2010, 02:35 AM
seems u just got enough to run it properly
but when you start dolphin and load the game, the ram usage will increase or not? hm maybe not because the game is already fully loaded into ram... other thing... i guess on some games much of the isos size is just filled with dummy data to fill the dvd.... so maybe it possible to let dolphin load all the nessesary gamefiles into system ram and boot the game from there... loading of the game should take some minutes then... because it needs to be copied to ram everytime u run it... not sure... what sais some dev about the idea? ok i checked the first time how much ram dolphin already needs.. and its less than i expected, only 300-400MB, but maybe this could depend on game...
When you put the file in the Ram Disk, Dolphin isnt using any RAM if Im right, I will check this out btw.
Ooh, it will still use RAM (Yeah ofcourse it will, its a RAM Disk, so its not loaded in the RAM yet), its using something between 250 MB and 350 MB. 07-08-2010, 04:15 AM

here is a free version (in the middle of the post): http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/05/27...03-server/
EDIT: On Vista/7 you need to run as admin Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team) 07-08-2010, 04:28 AM

Added you link in the first post .
