Hi this should be a very quick question to answer, I am just wondering if the computer is able to save memory instead of a memory card. Everytime I try to play my games it says I need a Memory Card in Slot A. I do have a real memory card, but I dont honestly know if it is useful. I currently have version 3.0 32 bit. Thanks everyone!

Be sure to read these rules before making threads here. For this thread you could have told us which games this was happening in, and what exact error message you got. Be sure to properly fill out your PC specs as well.
Now, with that out of the way, you can save with savestates (these can be unreliable at times). Press Shift+F1, F2, etc to save instantly anywhere in-game. Press F1, F2, etc, to load the respective savestate. Saving via memory card will spare you from a lot of issues however, so I usually recommend doing that. Also note that Dolphin emulates the memory card, e.g. It's just a file on your computer, so there's no need to use a real one. It could be just a case of not having the proper permissions on the Dolphin folder or you have the Dolphin folder set up in a location such as Program Files. What did Dolphin say when you tried to save onto the memory card? Also, when you click the Config button in Dolphin and click the Gamecube tab, what do your settings look like? 06-05-2012, 08:08 AM

Okay I figured it out, I looked it up on another forum and found that I need to make sure the containing folders are not kept private or locked. 06-05-2012, 09:16 AM
SRAM is not a memory card (with the latest revision invalid memory card files are explicitly rejected, unfortunately not the case for 3.0).
Change the Setting to MemoryCardA (just type the name) and select it. If that does not work, close dolphin and open the config file <Dolphin folder>\user\config\dolphin.ini, look under [Core] for "MemcardA = " at the start of a line, simply delete this line save the file and reopen dolphin, the default setting for the memorycard will be used 06-06-2012, 10:05 AM
