Alright, using some of my freetime today,I was able to do some more testing. I played Custom Robo for a few hours. The last time I used a older build, and it was pretty good however the DSP had a hard time with multiple sounds, ESPECIALLY when they are high pitched. With this new build ( 853), this problem has been alleviated to a extent. Beginning title screen's audio still crackles, and makes other sounds crackle until it has ended. All other sounds are just fine at that point, and battles and ingame music and sound effects are fine. I decied to go back to the title screen within the game, and to my surprise when the title popped up (with the same audio), the crackles weren't there. Also, after a about 2 hours into my session, the audio seemed to become fuzzy and crackle like the title everywhere. A restart of the game fixed this, and the fuzzy/crackiling title screen audio came back too. Can anyone else confirm my results with their own experience with this game? I was running 60FPS 100% the entire time, and the most interesting thing is the fact that the title screen audio glitches disappear when you re enter it after initially starting the game. I just reconfirmed a few seconds ago.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but this does fix the repeating sound in Spyro Enter the Dragonfly (Gamecube game).
Just tried 3.0-853 and with stable speed (this game does change fps between 30 and 60) it really sounds nice. 01-13-2013, 11:57 PM

Hey @delroth I've made a video to show you the issue with Metroid Prime 2 Echoes with more info
Please see this video first -> http://www.mediafire.com/?bsmsnl5rcf0al5n In the "first screen" you can hear the power beam sound effects issue. But only in this "second screen" the power beam sound effects will work without issues, see..., but only in this "second screen". If you enter in "any other screen" the power beam issue will be there, don't know why. Then I will change to "Surround" the issue with the power beam sound effects still will not happen on the "second screen" , but the "surround" will broke some sound effects in "any screens" like the morphing ball bomb and others. In other words, the "second screen" of MP2 didn't has any issue with the power beam sound effects, not even with "surround" enabled, while the "others screen" will have, and "surround" will broke some sound effects on "any screen".

delroth please can you tell me what master revision your (new-ax-hle) branch is based on , cause i have similar problem mentioned in issue 5910 http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/iss...il?id=5910 which was caused by master revision 7bf72a6c8476 (aka 3.5-170) issue was reported using LLE but i have same problem using HLE even in your latest revision (new-ax-hle-3.5-317) , anyway this issue had been fixed with master revision cff8fe8f77cd (aka 3.5-322 fixed by reverting the problematic revision ) i faced the issue only on one place in intro BGM (maybe other BGMs) in Fatal frame 2 wii edition the spoken voices suffered sever crackling but during gameplay is normal , so could you use master rev. 3.5.322 to fix this ?
those samples will explain things : 3.0.852 : http://www.mediafire.com/?3ciqn5i5lqdg43p 3.5.315 (3.5.317 same thing) : http://www.mediafire.com/?wz7r2v4q7vnxzxe normal settings hle with xaudio2 full speed. 01-26-2013, 08:14 PM
I'll close this thread - new-ax-hle is currently not in a usable state (I'm working on AXWii support) and people seem to assume that it is. The GC part was merged and I don't need testing yet for the AXWii rewrite.
