[GC] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest

I'm trying to play this game in 3.0-815, but it hangs for some seconds at a completely random rate (video and controls only - audio keeps playing). However, if this happens while some character is teaching an Ocarina song for the player (with the notes being shown), the entire game freezes for a longer while before the next note is shown and played and then the "rehearsal" stops and the controls stop responding, making it impossible to proceed unless by resetting or loading a save state.
This problem is more evident with JIT recompiler. JITIL is slower and also has this issue, just not as often. Since this is already a ROM by itself in the GameCube disc, could this be internal emulation loading or something alike?

As for the settings, the only ones I changed from default was EFB Copy to RAM (which is irrelevant for this issue). By the way, using Real External Frame Buffer is actually worse than Virtual, since it messes up completely the graphics.

What are your specs?
You have to use LLE for this game. Alternatively you might wanna try AX-HLE builds ( http://dolphin-emu.org/download/branches/ ). I don't know how it works with them

My specs: Windows 7 Ultimate x64, NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G, AMD Athlon Dual Core 4 GB RAM I doubt this is hardware related, because no other game I tested (GC, Wii or WiiWare) suffers from this. That's why I'm wondering whether or not it's due to the game already running in a built-in emulator.

You use LLE in every game with this CPU? Which Athlon is it exactly?
Btw I see you're using save states. This could be the source of your hangs/black screens. Try to use in-game saves to see if it makes a difference. And try a last thing: use HLE and set Framelimit to "Audio". Or even better use Dolphin 3.0 and enable Audio Throttle in DSP settings

My PC is quite limited, so it makes almost no difference regarding speed, and the games that have sound issues are easily fixed with it. After a couple minutes, this issue happened, and I didn't do anything absolutely, apart from walking around and watching some conversations. About using HLE and frame limitting with audio, I don't think it would be useful, since the emulator runs slowly in my system (roughly 10-20 FPS), which worsens HLE's bugs a lot.

Using LLE with your system is a nonsense (a suicide at least ). You'd better consider using HLE, for better speed at least, and deal with sound issues (12-08-2012, 02:24 AM)Ansatsuken Wrote: It's AMD Athlon Dual Core QL-62 2 GHz. Actually, HLE runs even slower than LLE in my computer for most games (e.g. Wind Waker and Super Smash Bros. Brawl). Moreover, I guess the problem is not related to sound - it's the only thing that only freezes under particular conditions. Also, since nothing is mentioned about it in the wiki page, I'm still considering the possibility of this being not a Dolphin bug, but a loading time of sorts from the game's data processing in the built-in emulator or something like that (like most PC games in the 90's had a considerable loading time). Nevertheless, I'll eventually buy a new notebook anyway, out of necessity for my work.
