This means that 1xIR ("Native" in Dolphin's settings) is the original resolution that the GC/Wii ran the game at (640x528). Increasing IR increases the resolution in multiples of 640x528, 2xIR being roughly 720p and 3xIR 1080p. 01-02-2016, 02:38 AM

Okay I probably should have told you guys about that. Okay so before when I said I was running Metroid Prime 2 (this is Metroid Prime trilogy) in 1080P with AAx8 and AFx16 I meant that the internal resolution was at 1080P (or x3) and the full screen resolution was at 1080P also. With MP3 I am running the full screen at 1080P and the IR at 720P with no AA or AF. I really don't want to lower that because that's the point of me using Dolphin. I have the Wii version on disc and I have a Wii and a Wii U... and I have MP:T on the Wii U also (as a DLC... I thought it was upscalled when I bought it... I was disappointed :\ ) but it's IR is still 480. So if I am going to play it in standard def... I might as well just fire up my Wii U and play it on there.
Plus here is some more info in my rig OS - Windows 10 Pro 64bit CPU - FX-8320 black edition 3.5ghz GPU - EVGA GTX 970 GDDR5 RAM - 8GB DDR3 Samsung SSD Dolphin version 5.0 Beta Backend OpenGL 01-02-2016, 02:48 AM
Running it at native is only just to determine if your CPU is the bottleneck.

Okay so I did try that... and even in standard Def. I still have the exact same lag issues that I do in HD. So this means... it's definitely my CPU then huh?

In fact, a GTX 970 should never be a bottleneck for Dolphin since it's one of the best GPUs you can buy. You've confirmed that the bottleneck is your CPU. So you'll need to upgrade your hardware to run it at full speed. You are using the latest development builds, aren't you?

I've tried a few of the latest builds and they don't run as well as the 5.0 Beta I've been using for the past month and a half to 2 months now.

That sounds great! For the most part for me, Dolphin runs slower mainly around 30 fps but I come from the age of the original Nintendo. With that being said I don't really need high impact graphics but I did notice that my sound was choppy. I was however able to finish Skies of Arcadia Legends so if a person didn't mind resetting once in a while (to re-sync sound) it could be done with the specs posted on the first page. I am going to download the new version of dolphin and see where it goes from there. P.S I had to upgrade my gpu to AMD R7 370 because my kids like drinking around the computer and accidentally spilled soda down the back and cooked my 7770. |
