[Upgrade] GTS 250 DDR3 vs ATI HD 5750 DDR5 - achaw - 06-05-2010

I will going to update my gpu so, this are only my two options (No more money XD)
So, basically my goal is get more FPS on Dolphin, my sys specs are on my signature.
Wath do you think? In fact, according to reviews and benchmarks HD 5750 is the winner, better perfomance with less power consumption and less "heat".
But, Nvidia --> Intel, AMD --> ATI.

Will i going to gain fps on Dolphin? Ati is actually better?

Thanks

yes, you'd gain, but overclocking would make it much much faster.

nvidia= physics

ati= directx 11

but im prefer hd5750, because of dx 11, low price and the benchmarks it beats the gts 250, some 15-20 percent of difference.

I dont now...someone recomends use Geforce with Intel CPU, and ATI with AMD CPU...

SO, i think ATI is the winner...thanks

ATI Wink.

...last I checked the 5750 is significantly more expensive than a GTS 250, usually about $30 more. And yes the 5750 supports dx11 but that doesnt't matter in dolphin. Well let me do the math real quick.

Video memory bandwidth:
5750 GTS250
128 bit 256 bit
x x
4600 MHz 2000 MHz
= =
73.6 GB/s 64 GB/s

Now shader throughput:
5750 GTS250
720 128
x x
2 3
x x
700 MHz 1620 MHz
= =
1008 GF 622 GF

Texture fill rate doesn't really matter anymore so I'll just skip to pixel fill rate, and I won't even bother with the math this time.
5750 GTS250
11.2 GP/s 10.8GP/s

Now the only factor left is how well the drivers and applications actually utilize this. Benchmarks usually show the 5750 slightly outperforming the GTS250. Which means that they're drivers are about on the same level. Overall I would make the claim based on this data that the 5750 is a slightly better card.
