How to speed up Dolphin emu? - ZEROthefirst - 05-15-2010 Well i've heard alot of things about the dolphin emulator before both online and from friends and I decided to try it out so I downloaded it last night and got some basic stuff down like using my 360 controller and all so I can play some of my GC games. I got an ISO for Megaman X command mission play it and the thing plays at about 20 FPS which is a to slow and the game constantly freezes up on some battles that I would get into. So I was just wondering if anyone would help me to be able to speed the emu up a bit to be able to play some games without hating the horrible lag. My comp spec are Gateway Laptop with AMD II Dual Core Proccessor Operates on Vista Processor Speed2.0GHz Ram 4GB Type of Memory (RAM)DDR2 Hard Drive TypeSATA (5400 rpm) Hard Drive Size 500GB Dedicated Video Memory 256MB I would normally say that this would probably be able to run fine since I can play Devil may cry 4 on my PC on High quality with no lag except on some cutscenes but again this is an emulator so it depends on the programs itself. RE: How to speed up Dolphin emu? - naoan - 05-15-2010 Emulation != PC gaming. That said using d3d9 and enabling efb to texture will help, in some case, tremendously. If you still experience slowdown then your system simply isn't powerful enough for the game. RE: How to speed up Dolphin emu? - thaCASHdude - 05-15-2010 post your dolphin settings. Alright I might try playing around with some of the settings when I get my comp on (using wii atm) see if changing some graphics setings around like the Direct3D9 plugin and some other stuff to hopefully speed it up a bit and after that i'll post some print screens.
