Xpadder or Dolphin... - thechicken - 04-24-2009

I have one problem. I have an Xbox 360 Controller attatched to my computer and it works fine, except for the main joystick. In Xpadder i have set all the controls to what they are in Dolphin (im using the dolphinkb/xbox360pad plugin or w/e its called). When i try to use the main joystick it acts crazy and doesn't work properly. I have tried setting it to different keys but the same thing happens. If its set to the arrow keys for moving around, it doesn't work but if i just use the arrows on the keyboard, it works fine. I have tried this on TWO different xbox 360 controllers connected to the USB with the same settings. any ideas?
i attatched a screenshot of my config

I also use a 360 controller with XPadder.

What I did was create a various profiles for my controller such as: Gamecube, Wiimote, Wiimote+Nunchuck, ClassicPad , etc. - mapping the keys as required. BUT...My Gamecube profile has no key bindings (basically a blank profile) - since Dolphin's plugin seems to work great for it regardless. Also not binding the Gamecube buttons with Xpadder allows me to set controls in other emulators' plugins without Xpadder interferring.

Works well for me...

I don't see why anyone with a 360 controller is having issues with the dolphin plugin, I'm using the standard official M$ one and i have never even gone into the controller plugin settings and its always played perfectly. I don't know maybe your using some unofficial drivers, i used to use some so i could use both triggers (acts as separate axis instead of one) at the same time(for games such as final fantasy XI) but it brought issues with some games designed for 360 controllers (e.g. Crysis), but I've never had issues with dolphin and the 360 controller plugin.

I guess my advice would be to update your controller drivers, or revert to official ones if you are using unofficial ones.

hmm i am probly using a different one because its "MadCatz" Controller. Could you give me a link for the dl?

EDIT:
I'll post a video of my problemo

DOUBLE EDIT:
I realized something. All the directions for moving diagonal are inversed. Top right moves to bottem left. Top left moves to bottem right..etc etc.. but the 4 main directions work fine

I'm not sure if these will work with a MadCatz version but i see no reason why they wouldnt since they have the same inputs, but its worth a try i guess lol. here

RE: Xpadder or Dolphin... - thechicken - 04-25-2009

Thanks for the link but i still have the same problem. BTW I have tested with a MadCatz Controller and a normal XBox 360 Wired Controller. Any ideas about all the diagonals being inversed?

EDIT:
Ah! I found out something. All the directions work until i put the stick to the outer brim of the joystick area. If i push any direction without pushing it all the way, the direction works until outside the "zone" of what it works for

DOUBLE EDIT:
I recently found out that using nJoy 0.3 makes both joysticks work, but how do i remap the controls and what they are assigned to? (for Zelda Wind Waker) The triggers turn the camera and the bumpers act as L and R, so i dont have a Z button..

I'm not sure, i'll have to have a look at njoy plugin since i've always used the kb/360 plugin

RE: Xpadder or Dolphin... - thechicken - 04-30-2009

PROBLEM SOLVED. I started using nJoy 0.3 and changing the controls to Xinput makes them work! No Xpadder needed!

RE: Xpadder or Dolphin... - xraven13 - 07-17-2009

What controls u need to set up for Xinput??? Wiimote is separate thing that is not offered there, i am not sre how that works?
