RE: Super Smash Bros Melee Question - ePhito - 04-22-2009 i´m using the 32 bits version... and i have enabled those options "dual core" and "idle skipping"... the game runs ok when i'm facing just one character... but when there are more than 2 fitghting... the game becomes slow... and sometimes the background music turns off, and just the sounds can be heared.... my cp configuration is: -AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 4450e 2.30GHz -3.00gb ddr2 ram -NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 -OS: microsoft windows vista home premium edition (32bits)... the problem is caused because mi pc... or ther is anything that i can do??? can anyone help? RE: Super Smash Bros Melee Question - thegamefreak0134 - 04-22-2009 Not really, actually. Your graphics card is considerably low end, you might consider a real one, but I don't think that's your issue. Melee is slowing down with more than 2 fighters because it has to compute that much more logic to make the AI work. So literally, your processor can't handle Dolphin fullspeed when it needs to do this. There's not a lot you can do about this, Melee slows down for me as well and I have a much more powerful system. It's the main issue with GameCube/Wii emulation, the PowerPC in the Wii may not be the most powerful thing on the market, but emulating it fullspeed is still very, very difficult to do. The music is another story, it's a known bug and the trouble is that it isn't consistant, so it's really hard to track down. I get that too, not much you can do about it. It's kind of neat on Mushroom Kingdom though, because at the 0:30 mark if the music has cut out it will come back in again for the sped up version. ![]() -gamefreak RE: Super Smash Bros Melee Question - CacoFFF - 04-23-2009 The more players = the more polygons = overload of vertex loaders in dolphin (which need optimisation) = slowdown caused by lack of CPU power. RE: Super Smash Bros Melee Question - whistler2k4 - 07-09-2009 I'm Borrowing this thread for a bit. I got a minor issue with SSBM... Even tho I have set all settings as recomended, it still gets slow when more than 1 opponent is playing. Also, all but 2 levels is making my game go slow. Any suggestions? Using SVN R 3402 Please excuse my bad english. RE: Super Smash Bros Melee Question - CacoFFF - 07-10-2009 Well, Melee goes slow to almost everyone here on some places, unless to some crazy guy with an overclocked I7 to 5ghz. Since by 'slow' i don't get reference, i'll ask you: What are your FPS on Final Destination, 2 players? What are your FPS on Fountains of Dreams, 4 (ice climbers) players? On my rig, 50 fps (PAL), and 23 fps. Im getting the same slowing issue even with Phenom 9950 X4 and Nvidia 9800Gtx+ Which both should be more than enough to run these games.
