PC upgrade for Dolphin question. - ironrush23 - 03-02-2010

I already know that dolphin doesn't support Quad core at the moment. But I just wanted to know If I will get a huge speed and fps diferent if I upgraded to AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz. I currently have an amd dual core @ 2.8ghz. Would it be best for me to get the quad so dolphin could dun faster, or should I just stick with the dual core I currently have and buy a better dual core with more clock speed or overclock it?

Edit: if I ended up getting the quad core with 3.2ghz, how much could I overclock it to without messing up my pc.

i have a Phenom too, and all games that i testet on dolphin run perfect
i think when u want to buy a new CPU, then u should allways buy a Quadcore cause u can play "normal" games better with it

If u just want to play Dolphin better then a Dualcore seems to be enough.

and...if u want oveclock i think 4Ghz is possible, but just with a good cooler.
