Kinda new could use some help and answers - ZerosumHeresy - 02-26-2010 hello, i just started messing around with the dolphin emu a few days ago and had some questions. i am trying to play Zelda Wind waker and have been having some problems. i have been trying many emu's but most do all the same and i see no difference. the game runs around 25-30fps. and the sound sometimes studders or cracks. i also dont know what graphics i should go with OpenGL or Direct3d9 i hear ppl favor one or the other. i have see youtube videos run the game no prob. i was also wanting to play it on my PC cause i thought and heard the graphics when playing on a pc emu will look a whole lot better. and when playing wind waker on my wii on my 48" lcd tv look pretty horrible. is there a way to improve them? i been trying to play it on SVN 5134 but maybe theres a better one? im pretty sure my pc should run dolphin np heres my system. and what resolution should i run it at? ------------------ System Information ------------------ Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.091208-0542) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Hi, there! Have you tried the tricks in this thread: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-49.html ? If those didn't work, what resolution are you trying to run the emulator at? If it's a 1080p tv, then you'll need some more powerful hardware to run wii games at full resolution. Although your system is considerably more powerful than a Wii, the emulator needs resources in order to create a wii-like software and pretend-hardware environment for the games to run on. Your computer essentially has to disguise itself as a Wii, and then use its processing power to play games without letting that disguise slip. That takes a lot more power than running games as the windows-running x86-64 machine that it is. Edit: This was in one of the "getting started" threads: (03-15-2009, 03:07 PM)omegadox Wrote: Note: OpenGL plugin is the best working video plugin for Dolphin, do not expect great results with the Direct3D9 plugin compared to the alternate one. RE: Kinda new could use some help and answers - ZerosumHeresy - 02-26-2010 i been trying a bunch of different resolutions so idk what is a good resolution to run it at. right now it 1280 by 720. the tv is 1080p and ive ran pc games on the tv before no problem. BF2, Wow, crysis a ferw others. i really dont know anything about disguising my pc as a wii. RE: Kinda new could use some help and answers - GodRays - 02-26-2010 Use your desktop resolution as the fullscreen resolution. RE: Kinda new could use some help and answers - ZerosumHeresy - 02-27-2010 i do, its the graphics sapose to look better then they would on the console? or about the same? RE: Kinda new could use some help and answers - GodRays - 02-27-2010 You can use several options to improve them ovrer the original, like SSAA, anisotropic filtering and bilenear etc. It depends on your PC's power. That's all assuming the specific game is emulated correctly, that's the important thing. RE: Kinda new could use some help and answers - ZerosumHeresy - 02-27-2010 how do i disguise my PC to think its a wii??
