Intel D? what's the matter? - aramir - 02-26-2010 Hello, Well I just discovered Dolphin 2 days ago, so maybe my thread will looks so newbie. But I Don't understand why Dolphin is running so slow on my computer. I've seen some guys who jusdt play fullspeed with their 2*2.5Ghz processor ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lKehf5Eu6U ). So why can I do as them. On my PC most of games never reach 60%speed (what also can be named sync, right?). And if I don't use frame skip, the game is noticed as 100% speed but sooo slow (not laggy). Here's my PC specs:_ motherboard: ASUS P5PL2-E _ memory: 2*1 Giga DDR2 (533Mhz) _ CPU: Intel pentium D 945 (2*3.4Ghz, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EMT64) [Intel pentium D is dual core, it is not a celeron D!!] _GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 Dual Slot Fansink (512MB DDR3, 625Mhz) _OS: windows 2003 ( same kernel as XP ) _Dolphin Rev: 5120 Please tell me at least if it is normal to get those problems with this spec. RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - hellboy_666 - 02-26-2010 Intel E Series is faster with 2,6ghz as a Pentium D with 2,6Ghz. wat is your OS x86 or 64bit? Under 64bit have i with my Pentium D 925 2@3ghz by most GameCube games full speed. RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - aramir - 02-26-2010 Thanks to respond so fast. ![]() My OS is X86. Also I only try Wii games, but It doesn't change anything cause Wii have same specs as gamecube, isn't it? Do you know a good anf free capture software so I can made a video, to explain what's hap? RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - hellboy_666 - 02-26-2010 sorry i do not know a free capture software for make video´s, make simple screenshots. No for WII emulation is more power necessary. 60% is ok for your system under x86 OS by Wii emulation. Edit: GameCube have a IBM PPC Gekko - 485 MHz and Wii a Broadway - 729 MHz CPU, If I'm not mistaken^^ Sorry for my really bad english
RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - aramir - 02-26-2010 Why does it change speed to be under X64 environnement? Do you think it's the only reason why I get games so slow? RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - hellboy_666 - 02-26-2010 64 bit has more bandwidth for data exchange, and accelerates the calculation. Yes i think it. RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - aramir - 02-26-2010 Allright, thanks i'll try one of those 64 bits OS. But what do you recommand me? I'm affraid 2 Gigas will be not enough to run (smoothly) windows 7 (don't even talk about Vista). Shall I go under a XP 64 bits? What do you think about it? PS: Dou you know if the windows 7 given to french science student is 64 bits? RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - hellboy_666 - 02-26-2010 i have xp x86 and xp64, this ranges me. 4Gb RAM is for Vista / win 7 better. 2Gb ranges for xp64. Quote:Dou you know if the windows 7 given to french science student is 64 bits?sorry but I do not know, I come from Germany and i´m not a student. RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - aramir - 02-26-2010 Well, thanks again I'll try first windows 7 x64 (because it's free for me ) and come back to tell you if I loose/gain speed. See you tomorrow.
RE: Intel D? what's the matter? - omegadox - 02-26-2010 Try using JitIL Core, it might perform faster. |
