wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - caveman - 02-20-2010 I'm new to Dolphin and Wii console, but so far I love it. What I don't like it is my PS2 controller, so I'll be looking into buying wiimote and nunchuk controllers. I know this topic has been covered few times, so please do not flame me for it.... I would like to see how many people are using what before I make my decision ![]() After reading few threads it sounds like cheap fleabay knockoffs are a lottery. Compatibility issues, sticky buttons, motion not working, shipping time... Some work some don't So is it worth getting a knockoff as my main controller? I don't plan to use it everyday and I wouldn't mind saving 50% of the price.... Also I wonder if Nyko(sp) or Intec wiimote's are much better than knockoffs i.e. Wu-brandhttp://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14202 or should I just shut up, stop crying and buy legit Nintendo make that works 100%? and if I go that route should just buy controller with motionplus sensor (I'm planning to play sports resort game)Regardless please PM if you know any 'legit' fleabay seller or stores selling a "good" quality wii prodcuts... TIA RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - Ocean - 02-20-2010 Far as I remember, even Nintendo.com sells official wiimote, now with motionplus, at around $30-$32. I've only used 3rd party battery chargers, but wouldn't use a 3rd party Wiimote. With previous consoles, it didn't matter, as the soldering and wires are an exact copy of the original ones... I have lots of knockoff snes, 64, gc, ps2, xbox controllers etc... Wiimote uses an unique motion sensor chip, and while most knock-offs work fine, IMO it's just not worth the risk, just to save an extra 10 bucks or so. Have read both good and bad reviews about unofficial wiimotes, in the worst cases they do not resemble the original motion sensing at all and have a very cheap accelerometer. Personally I'd only go for official wiimotes, but that's up to you RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - boogerlad - 02-20-2010 my nyko wand is coming in a few days. Will be able to confirm soon. Really ? if that happened wouldnt they just sell like hotcakes or something ? LOL anyway i just checked and apparently they are still 39.99 on nintendo.com RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - caveman - 02-22-2010 Thanks guys for all the replies. Today, locally I got my self a lightly used original remote and nunchuck for $33. I've already tested it on my buddies wii and everything seems to be in order. I might buy 3rd party controller as my 2nd unit, once I get bluetooth (still in transport) up and running. In the meantime I'll try to built my own sensor bar.... RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - oldpot - 02-23-2010 i got a real wiiremote and numchuck from ebay for $20 took 3 weeks from china but works great RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - shawnanastasio - 02-23-2010 wait..........if you dont have a wii than why do you use dolphin???????is someone pirating???????? Once I get everything going I might go for a second set. Right now I'm awaiting for a bluetooth adapter and I just order some IR LEDs to built an USB powered sensor bar ![]() BTW... I saw today new nerf steering wheels.... I think I'm going to pick one up.... It felt much nicer than an original Nintendo one. Must have been just a temporary sale then. Still, at $39.99, it seems like a bargain. I bought from local retailer, and paid almost double that for both a motionplus & a wiimote separately. RE: wiimote: Nintendo or Nyco/Intec or knock off??? - caveman - 02-25-2010 A good old article about wiimote vs. knockoffs
