Is there a trick to running wiiware files successfully? - Graffix - 02-18-2010

I've been trying to get Castlevania Rebirth/Contra Rebirth to work for a while now, I keep ending up with the same error in the same spot (right after choosing start game for both of them) no matter what build I use, as you can see in the screenshot below.

As you can see I even tried using the same build shown in this youtube video, but I still have the same problem.

Quick specs
Windows xp sp3
Cpu: Intel Dual Core @ 2ghz
Gpu: Geforce 9600 512mb

I don't think it's my PC but more along the lines of me missing a certain option or an oversight in the config or possibly the .wad file. Who knows, maybe it is my PC. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Some non-wiiware games such as 007: Quantum of Solace yield a similar message (you can emulate game though, but not after you select character). No idea what's causing it.

I guess the only remedy is patience.

Whenever you see a weird "memory" error message like "READ: Invalid Address: 7c2ee994" or "Read from invalid memory region (0x7c2ee994)", look at the first digit of the 8 digit hex number (7c2ee994).

If the number starts with a "7" like it does here, it means the game needs the TLBHack turned on.

If the number starts with a "2", it means the game wants to use the MMU, so use either the 64 bit version of Dolphin or the JIT IL experimental recompiler.

Numbers starting with any other digit still need more investigation into the emulation.

Well it actually makes it past start game now, but causes dolphin to crash once it tries to actually get in game, oh well at least it's a start.
