well the speed and type of ram is important, not really the amount of ram (with 1 or 2 GB of ram is enough :p) Smile

I took out two ram sticks to bring system down to 4GB, and didn't really notice any fps differences compared to 8gb (except Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, avg. drop fps about 2-3fps in all areas). Don't think that's the most important hardware piece for Dolphin, though vital of course.

If you want to upgrade components just to play games smoother on emulators, you probably should first look at a faster GPU (but ensure it's not too fast, so it's not bottlenecked by slow processor)

I think CPU is the most important part for Dolphin.

i think both cpu and gpu...you can't compare my performance in dolphin with dual 2.4GHz and a GF 6150SE
with another person with same number of cores and clock speed and a GF9800 GTX for example... he'd get at least 5fps more and smoother gfx than i do

not so needly...just if supports shader model 4.0 and opengl 2.0 will work great...the most needly is the CPU a Core 2 Duo 3.6Ghz works incredible great...of course 2GB RAM too xD!..

the cpu does all
it varies from thw gfx card a lot.
for example my gfx card renders ogl with choppy grafx although it supports ogl 2.0 and renders dx9 at better speed but worse gfx tho.
on the other hand a gtx9800 supports ogl 3.x and renders a lot smoother, and has greater gfx and speed too...and i got proof, i just tested MK wii on my friends pc with specs same as mine but he changed his gfx card to a 9800GT and i could say i enjoyed the gameplay a lot more from speed and gfx

It depends on the software.

The graphic card, ram, or the processor are not so important
