How do you "dump" Models? - Penance - 04-17-2009

I've been dumping loads of textures from various games but how do you dump things like character models?
I can see a folder for Models but I don't see anything regarding it on configuration...

No one?

What on earth is the point in having a model dump option without anyone knowing how to use it?

Because almost no one needs it at the moment. What you have in Dolphin is what you see.

can't you just extract them from the game?

It's not like they are in a usable format.
The game is Tales of Symphonia, like most games this game has all it's custom formats, hidden formats or plain ancient formats.
I've come across .arc but they don't extract properly.
I've come across .ahx which is some really strange audio format.
Ive' come across .adx which is yet another weird audio format, however I can play them with this minor adx converter/player I have.
Then I just come across a bunch of BINS with headers that I have no idea what they are.
The bin files are usually for characters
for example, there is a character called Colette in the game and her BIN files go like this:
Col_all.bin
Col_wing.bin
Col_EX.bin

etc.

Or does anyone know how to actually rip models and textures?

arc is a nintendo archive for gamecube, im sure there is an extractor
adx is a common audio format used in games like pso and basicly 80% of the nintendo games afaik. get in_cube for winamp so you can play them in winamp (fun fact: phantasy star universe uses adx as well, even pc version)
ahx is something i haven't heard off, im guessing its like a less common adx

but i see your point Tongue
