Paper Mario TTYD Invalid read issue (solved) - sloppy814 - 02-03-2023 OS - Windows x64 Processor - Intel Core i5-5300u GPU- Intel HD graphics 5500 RAM - unsure of brand, 16gb Dolphin build - 5.0 - 17995 x64 Hello all, first post here, still pretty new with emulation, so its hard for me to figure anything out on my own sadly. I am having an issue in Paper Mario: TTYD for gamecube, where I reach the second left corridor in Shhwonks Fortress after the quiz show, and upon entering said corridor I receive the error message "Invalid read from 0x00000000, PC=0x80199754", occasionally followed by a few more similar messages. I have tried disabling dual core on both the game and in the emulator itself, I tried disabling panic handlers in interface, and I tried randomly messing with settings and I haven't found a fix yet. The only change i have managed was when I disabled panic handlers, the message no longer appeared, but I received only a black screen. One other thing, I tried verifying my game, and it said that it was a bad dump. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, I would very appreciative, also I would prefer being sent a PM with the information to fix it as it would be easier for me to notice a PM, rather than a reply on a thread. Thanks in advance! edit: I solved this issue by changing my backend to Direct3D 11, which incidentally is what solved a prior crash in the start of the game just before the first dark chest. So if anyone encounters this issue in the future, try this solution. |
