I am trying to use dolphin emulator with my nintendo gamecube controller everything is perfect except the joy stick wont work what so ever all other buttons function on the controller other then the joy stick i thought it was a controller issue so purchased a new one but its doing the same
I have tried reinstalling dolphin trying to re configure the controller tried restarting my laptop not sure what else to do im using latest version of dolphin ive tried unplugging the adaptor and plugging it back in again but due to only the jot stick not working makes me think its a setting somewhere that needs to be changed other then the controller itself im dying to play gamecube games and its depressing me it not working

Could it be the adapter? I use an official Nintendo WUP-028 which has 4 ports. Maybe one of the ports has a damaged contact and you could try another port. (I think there is a configuration setting for using a different port.)
