Steam Deck No Longer Launches Dolphin in Game Mode - fia the fae - 01-06-2023
As it says in title, it used to launch but no longer does.
It didn't just launch 1ce or 2ce either: my partner made it about half-way through Wind Waker before this issue arose, so I'm honestly quite confused.
Adding to that, In Desktop Mode, it seems to launch both itself and the game just fine, though if there's a way to use the built-in-controller for gaming in Desktop Mode, it's not something I know about.
Anyway, any help that can be given is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Did you install Dolphin from the Software store or through a launcher tool?

I used the Discover page on Desktop mode, not sure if that's what you mean by the store.
Also, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Dolphin, and undoing a custom shortcut thingy I had tried to set up, none of which have helped.
Now that I think of it I suppose I could reset the settings to default, see if that does anything.

I just updated my Dolphin from the Discover store and I'm not having any issue on my Deck with launching it with my shortcuts in Game Mode. My shortcut only opens Dolphin directly and then I pick a game from the list, so it's not directly launching the game.
When I have some time this week I'll try to setup a shortcut to directly launch a game without the main Dolphin window and see if that works or not

I have all sorts of issues launching Dolphin from Steam since Dolphin added SDL2 in 5.0-16861. You could try any build before that, such as 5.0-16793 beta.
