Megaman Network Transmission Is Wrong - SkullChronos - 07-10-2022 This game has been reported completely bug free for the last I don't even know how long, and it even has a video "proving" this on the Wiki, but its not bug free at all, even in the video. The Dolphin emulator loads terrain as you walk on it, popping it onto your screen in a jarring manner that can actually make some platforming segments harder than usual, as a previously easy to see area now might not load in until you've already leapt. Here is the video on the wiki. Skip to about 5:45 here to see the glitchy terrain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTPGexQtRLU&t=361s Comparison video will be in the follow up post, as I can only post one video per post. This is a Dolphin specific issue; the game doesn't do this on actual hardware, but its listed on the wiki as perfect with no hacks required. What can I do to fix this? RE: Megaman Network Transmission Is Wrong - JosJuice - 07-10-2022 Turning off Dolphin's widescreen hack should fix this. The game waits to load in this geometry on console too, it's just that on console you can't see what's happening that far away because the image is 4:3. Can I do this on a per-game basis or do I have to do it to every game? I do enjoy the quality of life from the widescreen hacks, and didn't realize this was the culprit. You can merge this with my last post if necessary. I changed it to 4:3, disabled the widescreen hack, and set the display to auto, and all Hell broke loose. Game started lagging bad on restart and then dropped this error on me. https://imgur.com/JE9dban EDIT: Even changing the settings back is now slapping me with horrible lag and this error. What happened? RE: Megaman Network Transmission Is Wrong - SkullChronos - 07-10-2022 I don't mean to bump things, but I really need help with this. This error has me baffled. EDIT: I think I solved my problem, which is two-fold; one, my dump was bad, according to dolphin, so I redumped it and it was now good. Two, I had custom textures enabled (???) and I have no idea why, which is most certainly what my GPU was yelling about. Now I have one final issue that isn't really an issue. The game does indeed run flawlessly, even with the internal settings cranked up to make it look nice. Is there ANY way to get this to run widescreen without the weird texture pop-in? Really would love to relive this game as a modern title. RE: Megaman Network Transmission Is Wrong - SkullChronos - 07-11-2022 I was wrong. Game still runs great, but I'm getting this GPU issue still. |
