Some questions about Settings - Klemc - 06-11-2022 Hello, first, it's about "Allow Mismatched Regional Settings" (exemple game), i don't understand at all how it works, it's disabled by default, i'm FRench, but use PAL games version only when NTSC doesn't have french language (few). I don't thing any of my games have a probleme ith language, set FRench works allright. And there is a second setting, "Fallback Region" how this two work together and one by one differently ? Thanks. Second setting, SD card, can i disable it for all games played in Dolphin ? Or it can cause some to not be able of something ? I found 5 SD.raw files of 128mo, 40 other games have files of 64ko only ! I don't use any extension, or cennected devices... Why the screensaver is enabled by default (Wii) ? And do the screensaver setting in "User interface" option is about Wii, or Windows one ? And that's all, thanks to help. When "Allow Mismatched Region Settings" is off, if you for instance try to play a Japanese game with the language set to French, the language will be set to Japanese automatically, because Japanese consoles don't have French as an option and thus some Japanese games can crash if the language is set to French. American Wiis do let you set the language to French, so if you're only playing American and European Wii games, and your language is French, then it doesn't really matter. Fallback Region determines what region Dolphin sets the console to if you run a piece of software that doesn't have a region code, like a DOL file containing homebrew, or the Mii Channel in WAD format. It doesn't have much of a relation to Allow Mismatched Region Settings. (06-11-2022, 05:16 PM)Klemc Wrote: Second setting, SD card, can i disable it for all games played in Dolphin ? If you run into a feature that needs an SD card, the game will show a message telling you to insert an SD card. (06-11-2022, 05:16 PM)Klemc Wrote: Why the screensaver is enabled by default (Wii) ? RE: Some questions about Settings - Klemc - 06-11-2022 Well perfect, i'll understand all that correctly thanks. My mistake, i had 6 128mo SD and other 68ko (64 Ishii) files were SRAM and i keep that. EDIT ... for instance try to play a Japanese game with the language set to French, the language will be set to Japanese automatically, because Japanese consoles don't have French as an option and thus some Japanese games can crash if the language is set to French... I ha ve one JAP game, patched to subtitles in FRench, Fatal Frame 4 (it has a HD Project since recently). I don't know how it handles lnguage but perhaps if i enable the option(s), less glitches could occur, good to know. Link to patchFR (i will read decsription carefully, if ever it's mentionned). RE: Some questions about Settings - JosJuice - 06-11-2022 The SRAM files should be 68 bytes, not 68 kilobytes. Yes, i edited my post up here, i didn't carefully read (locate32 is usefull). it's bytes. EDIT The ISO is JAP, i let the option to default (deactivated/unticked), the patchFR applied replacing characters so it should work like that (and it does actually), thanks it's clarified now. I have only to check RODEA, to verify his behavior, i think nothing will have to be changed, or perhaps... edit ... no, nothing, it has french in NTSC, perfect. |
