Any method/setting that can sync the video to the exact display refresh? - el_rika - 02-24-2022

My Rog 3 in 60hz mode, actually has 59.3 hz, and any content at 60 fps has some stuttering, more or less (in Dolphin's case, more).

Is there any setting that i can activate, that can sync to the actual display and not the game's actual fps (which is generally 59.9 - 60)? Maybe some .cfg editing, a manual refresh..?

Thanks so much friends!

You could try to set a speed limit (config > general I would think). However, this will make the game run slower.

Hey great advice friend,

I actually tried that, and setting a 99 speed limit, makes the game sync better in 60 hz mode. However, every 10 seconds or so, the emulator "forgets" it is at 99 and goes to 100 for some 5 seconds, and everything goes to hell again in terms of smoothness.
I really don't know how to better describe the behaviour. With 99 speed, the game runs at ~ 59.3 fps, which is smooth, but then it goes to 59.8 - 60, and it stutters, and then back to 59.3 for a little while.

The best, most reliable option i found, is to actually play in 160 hz display mode (it's a hidden mode in the phone), and then the video is smooth at 100 speed, or 99 doesn't seem to matter (with a very slight deblur effect) and ultra responsive.

However, having the option to play at a constant 59.3 fps would be better for battery life and you don't really need ultra fast touch in these games.
