Games freezing at start screen - ianqaz - 11-04-2021
Just recently tried to play Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness on the Dolphin 5.0-15268 emulator but both games crash at the start screen. The emulator itself doesn't crash but the game freezes and stops responding. Any reason why this keeps happening and how can I fix it? Thanks.

Have you tested it in other games? Have you checked the integrity of your dumps?
Try disabling all AR and Gecko codes if they are enabled.

Just tested it with those two. I'm not sure about the integrity of the dumps but I've tried multiple copies of the two games same issue.
Haven't enabled any AR or Gecko codes

Open Dolphin > Right click on the icon of the game in games list > Properties > Verify > Verify Integrity
And then tell us the result here.
Have you tried to change the graphics backend? Change the graphics backend in Graphics > General to Direct3D 11, 12, or Vulkan

Ok perfect so it looks like changing the graphics backend fixed that problem! Thank you
