Issues With Directories on New Computer - bobosmith01 - 08-28-2020

Hi. I got a new computer. Trying to get my saves and settings from one place to another. However, even on a clean install, on a different computer, Dolphin is somehow remembering my old computer's settings. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, nothing. I've been able to repoint the GameCube Memory Card and Game folder, but I can't find anything for the Wii. Regardless of if I move it or not, I get the errors:

"Failed to write BT.DINF to SYS.CONFIG"
"SetupWiiMemory: Can't create setting.txt file"
"Unable to resolve read address 80004000 PC 0" (This error seems to continue for a long time, with that last value changing.)

I can't find any more directories to change, and just drag and drop has not worked at all.

No I'm not using cheats.

What should I do to transfer files, and get it all nice and squeaky for this new system? And, you know. The Wii thing.

The setting you need to change for the Wii is "Wii NAND Root" in the Paths tab. The errors you are getting are indicative of the Wii NAND root not existing or being write-protected.

I'm not sure if this setting exists in Dolphin 5.0 stable. If you're using that version, please update to a newer version.

No, this setting exists. I've tried messing around with it and doing the Program Files/Dolphin/Wii one, but still no luck. It usually defaults to my old folder on a reinstall, FYI.

Program Files/Dolphin/Wii? Are you sure you don't mean Documents/Dolphin Emulator/Wii? If the folder is in Program Files, that would explain why Dolphin isn't able to write to it. You should place it somewhere other than Program Files.

Ah, that might have caused the issue. I had dropped my original Dolphin Emulator Folder in the Documents folder to begin with to store it, didn't realize that was where it should be anyways.

What files should I keep (and keep seperate) before transferring? I want the Game files, the Save Data, the Controller Data, and the Savestate Data, I believe.
