Super Mario Galaxy's cut-scenes at 1-10FPS - Memès_land - 07-03-2020

Hello,
I played Super Mario Galaxy and when there is a cut-scene the game runs at 1 or 10FPS with freezes.
I'm talking about the first cut-scene when the game begin (when Bowser captures Peach) and cut-scenes after defeating Bowser at the end.
It is unplayable because cut-scenes times are 3 times longer.
I play with custom textures downloaded on your Forums.

I hope you have a fix for this problem.
Thanks for advance.

Does it do the same without the custom textures? Maybe try to Update to the latest version of dolphin. I'm not an expert so try those if they wont work then you will have to wait for someone else to reply!

RE: Super Mario Galaxy's cut-scenes at 1-10FPS - Memès_land - 07-03-2020

I always have the latest version of Dolphin. I download it when it come out.
I tried to touch some options but remove custom textures make thing worse.
But I tried to put "anisotropic Filtering' option on 1x (it was on 16x) and it is better but I still have freezes and it still lags.
Does someone has an idea of what I can put/remove ?
And little information I watched my tasks Manager and the problem don't come from my pc.

I will continue looking to change options and see if it improve cut-scenes.
If someone has an idea please tell me it !

Hello,
I have news. I put Direct3D11 in graphic engine and it work much better.
I still have some lags but it's better than before.

Have you tried a clean install of the latest Nvidia GPU drivers? https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/161303/en-us

RE: Super Mario Galaxy's cut-scenes at 1-10FPS - Memès_land - 07-06-2020

I will try this.
But I have GeForce Experience who tell me when an update is available

And the same thing happen in the "Sea Slide Galaxy" on the race against cosmic Mario
When cosmic Mario take a Koopa shell. When it throw the shell, no more freezes.

No, the clean install didn't work

What about a clean installation of dolphin with a portable.txt file in the same folder has the dolphin.exe. maybe there a dolphin setting or file that bad.

RE: Super Mario Galaxy's cut-scenes at 1-10FPS - Memès_land - 07-06-2020

Yeah, I can try this.
Just one thing: how the portable.txt work ?

RE: Super Mario Galaxy's cut-scenes at 1-10FPS - themaster123 - 07-07-2020

You create a file call portable.txt in the main file. It cause dolphin to go to it local folder rather then the document folder of your username in windows. You don't need any text in the document either. So you could use the right click and new notepad and just rename it to portable. This will allow you to check if there any setting or file in the setting that usally use is bad or corrupted.

Okay, I finally found the problem !
In graphics > Advanced I unchecked "dump textures" and it worked !
I will remember the portable.txt technique if I have others problems in the future.

Much thanks themaster123 !
