Switch Pro Controller - Input Lag in Skyward Sword - Junkbott - 05-10-2020 Hello all! First time poster. Kudos on all the progress Dolphin's made in the past few years. Emulated motion controls are awesome! I'm using a Switch Pro Controller to emulate motion controls in Skyward Sword. It all worked pretty seamlessly in the opening area (Skyloft). The problem is, now I'm in the "game proper" (Faron Woods) and experiencing HORRIBLE input lag. This mostly affects the gyroscope, but it sometime affects the regular controls as well. I'm tried everything I can think of. Lowering the graphics, changing video and audio drivers, even some of the optional CPU advanced options. Nothing seems to work. There's some occasional audio stutter as well - I'm not sure if these are connected. Does anyone have advice for how to fix motion control input lag in Skyward Sword? Thanks in advance! RE: Switch Pro Controller - Input Lag in Skyward Sword - Junkbott - 05-10-2020 A couple more details... I'm using BetterJoyForCemu as my DSU client. I just fired up Metroid Prime Trilogy and I'm experiencing the same problem. Cursor drift all over the menus, coupled with serious input lag. I suppose I could just map the controls to analog sticks instead of using actual motion controls, but I know the Switch Pro Controller has a really good gyroscope. Argh! RE: Switch Pro Controller - Input Lag in Skyward Sword - Junkbott - 05-11-2020 In case anybody's wondering... this appears to be a bluetooth issue. I plugged the controller in via USB and it's much more solid. The bluetooth on my motherboard (Asus ROG Maximum X Hero) just doesn't cut it. Is it possible it can't handle the bandwidth for motion data? However, I will say that USB isn't perfect either. Occasionally I'll get serious drift and have to reset all the connections. It's fiddly, but hey... it works! |
