Slow audio speed - TornadoWarning - 08-03-2019 I'm using Dolphin as a way to make working backups of my Wii discs and use said backups. For some reason, all of the sounds play at about half speed. They all play at the correct time, for example when opening a door the matching sound effect will play right away, but instead of being "Creak" it will be "Ccrreeaak". Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? RE: Slow audio speed - ExtremeDude2 - 08-03-2019 What your Audio settings? Have you changed any of dolphins default settings? Does this happen in multiple games and if not which one? What is your VPS/game speed percentage? I'm using XAudio2 for the Backend, and Audio Stretching is enabled, and turning that off seems to make no difference. IDK if I changed any settings or not, I forgot. It happens in every game I try, although Donkey Kong Country Returns has full speed audio on the save select menu. VPS stays around 50%. Sound and game speed are correctly synced now, so if the game slows down, so will the sound. Have you checked that your CPU is not slowing down itself? Or overheating? RE: Slow audio speed - mstreurman - 08-24-2019 Hmmm... Your computer is kind of old... The GPU you are using is below the spec that is recommended for 1080p gaming as that should be close to a nVidia Geforce GTX 750Ti, your card is around 25% slower according to this: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+5870, on top of that your CPU is also below spec as Haswell or 4th gen/4000 series and up is recommended or for AMD the Ryzen 1000/2000/3000 series. So to answer your questions: 1. Why does this happen? a) Maybe you have your settings too high? We don't know this as you haven't posted your settings for your game(s). b) Maybe your computer is just too old/slow. 2. How do you fix that? a) Lower your settings b) Overclock (if at all possible with your system, also AT YOUR OWN RISK) c) Buy a newer/faster computer d) Play your games using the real hardware. 2a) Try this: Turn VSYNC off, use 1x Internal Resolution, don't use any AA or AF, set the Ubershaders to use Asynchronous, turn on Compile shaders before starting, turn on HLE for sound and make sure all the other settings are set to their defaults. However, you are right that my PC is old, I'll probably get a new one relatively soon. |
