Any way to play Super Smash Bros. Melee at 2x native graphics in a super low-end PC? - nessboy - 07-09-2019

Hi guys. This is my first thread in the forum and my english isn't so good. So, if there's any error, i'm sorry.

As the thread name suggests, i'm playing Super Smash Bros. Melee with some "graphics problems". I know, my hardware is horrible, but, i'm wondering... Is there any way to play this game in at least 2x the native resolution without losing so many FPS at fullscreen mode?

Here is a link with 2 screenshots at native and 2x native resolution, using fullscreen mode:

In the first i'm getting 60 FPS, but, in the second i'm getting something like 20 FPS.

Confused

I'm sorry, but without a graphics card, there isn't much we can do for you. More pixels requires more graphics power.

I'm honestly impressed you're getting 60 frames at 1x looking at your hardware.

To make sure you get the best out of your hardware:
1. Make sure you are using no Anti Aliasing (just 1x), and see if turning off Anisotropic Filtering makes a difference for you
2. Try the different video back-ends to see which one works best
3. Use Store EFB Copies to Textures Only and the other hacks at their default values, which tend to favor performance
4. Try the Skip EFB Access from CPU hack, although it may break graphics in some games
5. Make sure you are using the default dual core CPU mode
6. Finally, I would hate doing this one but turning off vsync may give you a decent boost

Start from default settings and check the items I listed above. That is probably the best you can do.
