Having an issue with Dolphin 5.0 on Galaxy S8/Android 9 + Paper Mario:TTYD - Pulse1147 - 06-26-2019 Just to get this out of the way, I've only been fooling around with Dolphin and the idea of emulators for about two weeks now, so I'm terribly under-educated, despite crawling this forum in nearly every spare moment. Basically, TTYD loads up perfectly, I get through the whole startup scene with Mario and Luigi, and then when it cuts to the boat on the ocean and the screen fades to white, the game stops and I'm thrown back to the Dolphin menu. I've seen some other people reporting the same issue I'm having - I believe I read it pertains to the bonding boxes Paper Mario uses - which was solved in recent developer versions (though I'm not sure if they were on Android, Windows, or otherwise since it didn't seem to be mentioned). I've tried downloading several (at least 10) from the past few weeks, and each apk gives me an "App Not Installed" error. I'm hoping I'll be able to get some suggestions here on either what I can do to get TTYD working, or what to do about this error, or both if possible. Again, due apologies if the answer's out there and I wasn't able to find it, I've just been digging for 5 days on and off and I haven't found anything that seemed promising. The standard release from the Play Store. All of the apks I tried gave me that "App Not Installed" error, which hasn't happened with any of the other apks I've used before. RE: Having an issue with Dolphin 5.0 on Galaxy S8/Android 9 + Paper Mario:TTYD - JosJuice - 06-27-2019 You'll need to uninstall the Play Store version first if you want to install the builds at https://dolphin-emu.org/download/. But either way, the latest version on the Play Store handles bounding box emulation the same way as the latest development version, so it's fine if you've only tested the latest Play Store build. Not sure what exactly is going wrong... Well, the suggestion for getting the current build would at least. I just uninstalled the version I had, and most recent build from the downloads page. My save files for Harvest Moon and everything were still perfectly fine, I just had to reconfigure my controls. Well, hopefully someone comes along that has an idea of what I could do. I'm loving getting to play most of my childhood favorites, but TTYD is the one that I want to play again the most. Thank you for the help with the builds! RE: Having an issue with Dolphin 5.0 on Galaxy S8/Android 9 + Paper Mario:TTYD - mbc07 - 06-28-2019 With the latest Play Store version (or the latest development version, both are fine) go to settings and change the Video Backend from OpenGL to Vulkan or vice-versa. If the issue still happens, your phone GPU drivers are broken and there's nothing you can do other than hope for a firmware update from the manufacturer with less buggy drivers. Also, moved to Android... |
