RE: Dolphin on the pi 4? - bomblord - 10-26-2021 Pi is now Vulkan 1.1 conformant and the changes will be available shortly they are claiming performance increases too https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/vulkan-update-version-1-1-conformance-for-raspberry-pi-4/?fbclid=IwAR2R68Q5-dzNR6cCzbYIS8RS1x13Lpoe65ZaOP3tlATBgkmf_WK5ekJnqMs ![]() Performance increase in percent I'm going to attempt to find some time to build dolphin on a fresh pi install and see how it goes. RE: Dolphin on the pi 4? - Miksel12 - 10-27-2021 A comparison between Vulkan and OpenGL ES with probably an older Mesa version (with emulated underclock): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUUeE35fNTs Pretty interesting to see OpenGL ES performing better while in other instances Vulkan is quite a bit better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLzFPIoHhS8 Maybe a specific extension is used which is slow on RP4 or Dolphin's Vulkan implementation is slower? So hopefully there's a change between them and the newest update. RE: Dolphin on the pi 4? - bomblord - 10-30-2021 I'm getting about 3 more fps than before but it's margin of error numbers.... I can't figure out why Dolphin is reporting the Vulkan Version as 4.2 instead of 1.1 unless I did something wrong when I built Mesa. |
