Cirka Controller is seen by windows but not by Dolphin - Buscum_Ducis_NL - 06-24-2019

Hi everybody,

I'm at a loss. I've searched my ass off for three days to find an answer to my problem but so far I have not found it. I hope someone here can advise. I've installed Dolphin and bought a Cirka Gamecube controller to play childhood games. The controller is seen by windows but not in the devices list in Dolphin. I have an slow and old laptop on wich I tried to install the same as on my fast pc, on wich the controller is not showing up. The strange thing is that on the old laptop it all works fine. Both use Windows 10. I don't know what the problem on my rig can be. I tried to get some results with Zadig but it did not help.

I tried copying the dolphin install from the old laptop to the new rig and then the device is shown but with the text disconnected displayed. I really don't know what to do anymore. See the screenshot below.

I truly hope you can help me, because it would be awesome if I get it to work with your help!!

Are you using a WiiU/Switch adapter or does it have USB?

Damn, I thought I had all the details covered! But it's USB.

Do you see it in your Windows 10 USB controller list?
Does it work in other applications/games?

Yeah I do see it in the list of USB devices (as shown on the left side of my screenshot). I can remember seeing it once in Dolphin too, but very brief. I checked if it was about the port it was in but after trying all the ports, no result. I didn't try any other application or game, I will try another emulator today. One you can recommend trying?

Update** I just tried it on dolwin and that app doesn't see it as well..

Well... don't try Dolwin… I think that hasn't been updated since like 2012 or so...

Just try any other emulator that supports USB-controllers (e.g. a SuperNintendo one is Snes9x or any older PC game that supports DirectInput)

Also please try to open the "Set up USB game controllers" app in Windows 10. [Dutch] *Sorry, ik weet niet hoe deze kalibratie app in een Nederlandse Windows versie heet omdat ik alleen Engelse Windows gebruik Wink * [/Dutch] See if it detects in there. If it does, then it should also work in Dolphin... If it doesn't, either your Windows installation is broken (but it would be strange if it was on both Windows machine the same) or maybe the controller is broken or it might need some sort of driver to actually work (most DirectInput controllers actually do IIRC).

EDIT: I read some reviews of this controller... and they work spotty at best: Buttons that you have to hammer before they respond, Analog sticks not having a big enough "windows" where you Walk instead of run. Analog triggers that might or might not work at all. Controller not being detected anymore because of broken leads in the cable and so on...

My advice: If you can still return the unit... do it ASAP and spend a bit more on a decent controller. For GameCube games I use a Wired xbox 360 controller myself: they have the correct amount of buttons and analog axis to perfectly emulate a GC-pad, notwithstanding the great support for most other (native) PC games and almost all emulators, even a cheaper 3rd-party controller will do, I have a Speedlink Strike NX USB pad as secondary controller which cost me a whopping 12 euro and even has working vibration(I live in Croatia thus less than HRK 100) It does suffer a bit from the walk issue mentioned before but it is easy enough to get used to as it is still quite a big window, just a bit smaller than my real 360 one Smile

Tnx for your reply.. I tried your suggestions but even in the USB setup app in windows, it's not seen. I still can see the controller in the list of connected USB devices but not in that app.. It's so frustrating. I can't return the controller so that's a loss I've got to take then.

I hoped it would be a fix to google the IIRC part and find a magic driver that fixed the issue, but to no avail. I'm giving up this crap controller. I'm going fot the wired X-Box controller you mentioned.

But still I wonder why on the shitty old laptop the whole thing works and on my high end and "quite state of the art rig" the controller doesn't work. It frustrates the shit out of me, especially because I don't understand what the problem is. If someone is reading this and can help me understand, I'd be a happy man! Anyway, thank you all for taking the time and effort helping me!
