Gamecube adapter not detected on motherboard USB but works through PCIe USB card - Jomahy07 - 05-02-2019

Using Windows 7 and latest development build and Dolphin does not detect my Official Gamecube adapter or Mayflash one in Wii U mode when it's plugged into my motherboard's USB ports(AM4 B350 motherboard), yet if I plug it into a USB PCIe expansion card Dolphin recognizes it. Is there any hope for a fix so I don't have to use a PCIe card to get the adapter working?

Have you tried ALL ports on your motherboard? It might be that some of the USB ports don't have enough power to power the Adapter.
Is this problem also present in Windows 10? Please upgrade to Windows 10 anyway as Windows 7 is basically EOL and you're missing out on great features and support for newer hardware, and with your hardware there is literally 0 reason to not use Windows 10 (unless you are using software that does not work in Win 10, which in that case I would say also upgrade that software Wink ).

I'd prefer to use 7 and not going to bother arguing why I'm against using it at the moment, I will try all of the USB ports but I think it's a Dolphin issue since it works on X470 boards with Windows 7.

I'm not saying that it doesn't work on Win 7, I'm just saying there are issues with drivers and so on with newer hardware used under Windows 7.

Also, if it works on other machines, and through an PCI card in the same machine... you can be 99% sure it isn't Dolphin. It's either the adapter needing more power than your motherboards USB's can deliver, somehow broken USB-ports or Win7 not supporting the USB-ports on your motherboard correctly.

This is an OS driver issue, nothing we can do.

You'll need to use it through your PCI-E card as a workaround.

That's disappointing, I'll see if a developer could respond on the AMD community forums if it could be fixed in a new chipset/driver update.
