DX11 seems to be broken - theplasticbling - 04-28-2019

DirectX 11 seems to be broken for me on the latest nightly. Tried a few builds over the past few months (all nightlies) and couldn't get it to work on any. I'm trying to use Nvidia 3d vision and the reason I'm using nightlies is to fix a bug in SSBB where the character is a magenta square.

Your profile isn't completely filled out, can you give more details so as to rule anything out?

If you're on Windows 7, update to Windows 10 so you get the latest D3D11 version.

Hey guys! I updated my profile but to put more info in the thread, I'm on Windows 10 with the latest updates and latest Nvidia drivers. DX11 works on all other games.

Uncheck store XFB copies to texture only and uncheck immediately present XFB.

I bet 3D Vision is broken in the latest development builds. Considering that NVIDIA has dropped support for it, we're likely not going to put much effort into fixing it outside of trying to fix any bugs we find. If 3D Vision support limits any other features... then we'll probably have to do abandon ship on it. Stereoscopic support, as great as it is, costs a lot in maintenance of the video core.

Wow this sucks. And the XFB options did not help, still immediate crash. And it seems that 3D vision isn't the problem, DX11 is. Even with 3D off, I cannot boot any games with Direct X 11.

Couple Questions:
-Have you checked your games to verify that your copy is good? If you right-click on the game in Dolphin's game list, go to Properties, and then the Verify tab, check the partitions to see if they're good.
-Have you run the DirectX Web Installer to make sure your DirectX is up to date? It might be missing something really obscure.
-Have you tried doing a Restart, not a Shutdown (to bypass Fast Boot shenanigans) for Windows?
-Have you looked into using the free DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Tool to completely wipe your drivers and then reinstall a clean version from Nvidia's website?

D3D11 and D3D12 are both working for me. Please bisect.

Just wanted to update this: I've got 3D to work on the latest version of Dolphin using the 'Passive' option instead of using the 3D vision option. Games won't launch at all if you launch Dolphin with stereoscopic 3D enabled in Windows/Nvidia CP settings regardless of the 3D rendering option setting in Dolphin FYI. Thanks guys. Would still rather use Nvidia 3D vision but hey it works.

Edit: Games not launching with 3D in Windows/Nvidia CP turned on is only when using DX11.
