DirectInput Wiimote's buttons don't work in gamecontroller panel - kevincrans - 04-23-2019

Dear Readers,

When I connect my Wiimote via Dolphin The Wiimote works perfect.

It works also with Cemu after connecting via Dolphin and the Classic Controller works (only) in Dolphin too!

The Nintendo RVL-CNT-01-TR disconnects sometimes but usually shows up fine in "Install game controllers" of the "Set up USB game controllers" program.

However, when I click on "Properties" There doesn't appear any button I just was wondering, maybe I could connect my Wiimote with Classic Controller to Cemu trough DirectInput, and it does, but none of the buttons function.

Of course I know that's not the original intention of the Dolphin Developers.

But if you take it out of context, wouldn't it be wonderful if the Wiimote was reusable for other applications, games and emulators which do not have such a beautiful Gamecontroller Input API as Dolphin has, by just reflecting the buttons & analog sticks to DirectInput?

I mean, it doesn't make sense that Wiimote controllers shows up under DirectInput for nothing, does it?

Thank you for your attention and I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Kevin Crans

Yeah. This has nothing to do with Dolphin. Google Wiimote HID for drivers to do what you want.

Thank you so much for your reply!

I agree with you on that, what i say may be ridiculous, but can't dolphin's connection program communicate with the divers to add the buttons?

If not, what I believe it's the case, is there any chance these default drivers can be modified to be able to do that?

I had some bad experience with a Wiimote braking because of such tool (forgot whether it was HID Wiimote or glovepie)

No. Dolphin doesn't want to do that. HID Wiimote already exists.

It was probably Glovepie. Glovepie is really shoddy work, while the HID Wiimote creator actually fixed up and improved a lot of our wii remote code!

Dear May and Billiard,

Thank you so much for your replies!
I agree that what I asked is not up to Dolphin and a little harsh to ask, fixing Cemu's mistakes.

But now that I know Glovepie broke my wiimote, I can finally use HID wiimote again!
I'll give it a try and I guess that's the way to go for Cemu who are too lazy to natively support it.

U really helped me out, have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Kevin Crans
