Maintenance - Jefferson - 12-09-2009 Hi. Sometimes you have experienced Dolphin is slow and you have used it for long time. And you ask yourself: What is happening? ![]() It appears that you havent gave your computer an appropiate maintenance. This will help you keep the quality and speed of your games. -Use Disk desfragmenter -Use TuneUp Utilities 2008 or 2009, includes a lot of options and features to keep your computer speed. -Use Disk Cleaner. Also, sometimes, we download programs, that we dont need. This will drop the speed. -Oh! And You can remove carefully the dust of the CPU, and other hardware. -View styles and big icons consume RAM. You can post your ideas!
RE: Maintenance - a mad pigeon - 12-09-2009 -Don't install things you don't need. Tons of programs have a potential for viruses, especially toolbars, Yahoo programs, internet games, etc. -Disable startup items that aren't necessary, like Quicktime, Steam, Adobe updater, iTunes, Java Platform, etc. They eat up RAM, CPU, and internet resources when they do nothing but sit there the entire time your computer is on. Start > Run > msconfig > Startup tab -For more advanced computer users, do a clean install of Windows if it gets real bad or heavily infected with viruses. I would back up all important data to removable media or over the network, then scan it for viruses. Format all partitions on the drive, re-partition it, re-install Windows, reconfigure Windows. Done. Keep it rolling RE: Maintenance - Jefferson - 12-10-2009 Ok. Good advice RE: Maintenance - extreme64 - 12-10-2009 how about use tuneup utilities 2010 instead of '09 RE: Maintenance - Jefferson - 12-10-2009 (12-10-2009, 07:10 AM)extreme64 Wrote: how about use tuneup utilities 2010 instead of '09Well. I have no tested but, if it has more features, options and can fix more problems. It would be better. Done.advanced users ? I did a clean installation of windows without knowing what the hell I were doing xD Now my tips -Check with "WinRAR" if you have viruses in you computer ( It can see everything , just delete something and ou antivirus will detect it ( check C:\recycler for .exe files )) -As a mad pigeon said , run msconfig and disable all the shit that you have at the startup , and if you see something like 948.exe or something like that fing it and delete it -Open firefox with 200 add-ons , use it for like 1 or 2 hrs and then close the process = free RAM ( useful only in pc with 512 mb of ram or less )-Check that the isos are not fragmented ( once I started to desfragment a partition in my HDD and I closed it , then when I tried to play brawl it was slow as **** ) -never leave a partition with less space than the page file have assigned to it ( once I leaved the C:\ drive with only 1 Gb and OMG ) RE: Maintenance - extreme64 - 12-11-2009 wow james good suggestions.... im going to go try them |
