Suggestion for future releases - NathanielZhu - 12-09-2009

I suggest adding a feature to REALLLY REALLY tone down the game graphics.

Even when I put on the lowest graphics settings config for these games, it still looks barely toned down, so games, even GameCube games runs really really slowly on my computer (even though it's less than a year old) which has a shitty Intel Graphics card.

What's your CPU? Sure it's not the bottleneck? Going lower than 640 x 480 isn't something any card would gain much for. Your only option left is to frame skip...

There isn't really much they can do with the graphical effects, without breaking the games. Textures can be disabled, leaving you with bare colors or gray, but doesn't seem to give any speed...

My cpu if fine. 2 Ghz Core Dual.
I frame skip around 2 and it's still slow.....

your cpu is way too weak

Be specific please, the performance between one CPU an another could differ

[attachment=1772] Can this chart be applied to dolphin ?

huh? but my cpu doesn't even need to use 60% when any of the games are running.

I'm pretty sure my CPU is good enough and 3GB mem is fine.
I blame it all on my graphics card like Hitler blamed the Jews.

sorry, your cpu sucks and thats the bottom line, dolphin is not gpu inclined. This has been said over and over again.

RE: Suggestion for future releases - extreme64 - 12-10-2009

a geforce 6 series is enough for dolphin. Thats what I used to run. dolphin is all about cpu's an an i7 overclocked to 4ghz has trouble with alot of game

RE: Suggestion for future releases - Jefferson - 12-10-2009

It takes as 3 GHZ to run and enough RAM (at least 2,5) to run decently

RE: Suggestion for future releases - CacoFFF - 12-10-2009

I get around 80% (heavy load) - 140% (little load) - 400% (menu - intro) speed on most games.

Of course i have an actual Video card so even if you put a 5GHZ core i9, you won't reach fullspeed with that.
And no, you can't tone down graphics, games are the ones that should be programmed to do that and they weren't because they are for a fixed platform (console).
Carry on with Native resolution and disable any kind of EFB copy and filters.

PS: Beware of know it all kids.
