Look up your motherboard dude.
The card is PCIe. Does your motherboard have PCIe? Yes.
You'll also need a power supply that is at least 500W and has 2x 6-pin PCIe cables free to use on the video card.

Your 'dual core 3ghz' says nothing, brand and model and someone with more time on his hands will tell you whether to change it or not.
