Strange fps problem - Zephyr618 - 12-07-2009

I was playing Super Mario Galaxy today and it was running rather well. Suddenly the screen flashed white and back to normal but the fps was at 10. I restarted the program and when I got the title screen the fps was again exceptionally low. Wtf happened and how can I fix it?

My Computer:
Intel Q6600 @ 2.5Ghz-ish (I've been trying to get it higher than that)
EVGA nForce 790i mobo
2 9800GTX+'s in SLI
6Gb Corsair DDR3 Dual channel Memory

I get the same pitiful fps when sound is disabled as well.

Not sure what version it is, but it doesn't matter because I just restarted my computer and returned my FSB to its stock setting and everything worked normally again. Not that that is a good thing, it doesn't run as well when not overclocked.
