Factor 5 Game Data - CosmicDreams - 09-15-2018

Hi!
Im not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but, I need some help with the data files found in Rogue Squadron 2 and 3,
Mainly RS2 though.

I have managed to extract all the .DAT files from the "Rogue2" folder on the disc into a "Extracted" folder.
Inside are a ton more DAT files, which brings me here.

I have no idea what to do with these, the script i used to extract the Rogue2 folder DAT files do not work on these so i suspect it's a different format.

If it helps im looking to get models and textures.
Ive already asked around on XeNTaX and ZenHAX about this stuff but to no avail.
Hopefully someone here could help though!

Samples can be provided if needed.

Hello there. It’s me, ARAJediMaster from VG-Resources.com. I think it would be best if you sent the file samples, so that everybody else could analyze them. Also, if what I gathered from the other sites is accurate, you’ve been looking in the wrong section of the game files. You’d better send as much of the files as you can from all the other sections, so that we can track down, find the files, and then decode them into a usable format.

Sections?

Yes, I believe there may be portions that may be dedicated to sound files, one that is dedicated to texture files and possibly sprites, and the last holds the models. I could be wrong though, but it seems like you managed to get a hold of the texture files while the models might be in a different format that you haven’t checked out yet. Send the root file through first, then maybe others might able to find the models, then we’ll get to the textures for the models afterward.

We'll have to recommend you extracting those (most likely copyrighted) files from your own dumps instead of uploading them somewhere to avoid legal issues.
