Real Wiimote netplay - John - 09-11-2018 Hey Guys, first of all i want to appreciate your great work you have done with this emulator. Its just great. However, after i found out that there is currently no way to do a netplay session with real wiimotes i was really disappointed. Because i am not up to date (because i just recently started to emulate games) i just wanted to ask if there are any plans to add this feature in the near future (or if its going to be added at all) Its something i really hope for, but i also understand if its impossible to do. Its pretty complicated stuff after all i think. Sincerly John RE: Real Wiimote netplay - JMC47 - 09-11-2018 It'll likely never happen, bluetooth communication can't be done over netplay. RE: Real Wiimote netplay - Helios - 09-11-2018 I mean, it can. The Wiimote emulation (Because real wiimotes still aren't "real" until you get to BT passthrough) needs to essentially be rewritten, and then an abstraction made to allow movement data to be efficiently and quickly sent over the wire at a reasonable polling rate (Good luck there) None of this is remotely easy, but not impossible. And I think the only person remotely interested in rewriting emulated wiimotes has gone MIA so good luck there.
RE: Real Wiimote netplay - John - 09-11-2018 Thanks for the quick replies. Although i would love to see this feature i can totally understand you wont add it. And after all i already appreciate that there is a netplay at all. I guess ill just search a alternative for the wiimote, shouldnt be too hard. Anyway, thanks again for the quick replies and the emulator itself, its a really cool project. |
