Wii Input Extension not saving settings to INI files - snike - 09-04-2018

Hello Smile first time trying Wii games on Dolphin, all seems to run fine and with a playable frame rate (using a S7 Edge) however both in emulated mode and using a gamepad (Moga) which works fine with the mapping function, in both cases the settings aren't saved and each time I run the game (in this case London Taxi Rush Hour) it displays the nunchuck layout.

One other problem is I can't seem to move the cursor in any way via touch controls (when using the emulated nunchuck) though some buttons seem to work, was hoping the Classic Controller extension would help but here lies my main problem.

Already tried reinstalling Dolphin from the Play store.

I welcome any advice/fix and thanks in advance. Smile

According to the wiki London Taxi Rush Hour is wiimote only game, you can't control with Classic Controller extension.
However there are tricks to fool around the game that you are using nunchuck extension with Classic Controller onscreen buttons layout.

To do that, these are the steps:
1:Enter the game, sellect Classic Controller overlay then exit game
2: Go to dolphin-emu>Config>WiimoteNew.ini
3:Find the word Extension = Classic ,manually edit to Extension = Nunchuk
4: Replace those wiimote button values you want with classic controller button values then save the file
5: Enter the game again control it with classic controller

Here are some examples of button values replacement which able to control IR cursor with Classic Controller Right Stick overlay,as you can see the IR values are same with classic controller right stick values.

Classic/Right Stick/Down = `Axis 320`
Classic/Right Stick/Left = `Axis 321`
Classic/Right Stick/Right = `Axis 322`
Classic/Right Stick/Up = `Axis 319`
IR/Down = `Axis 320`
IR/Left = `Axis 321`
IR/Right = `Axis 322`
IR/Up = `Axis 319`
Extension = Nunchuk

Hey thanks for your message Smile, I tried changing settings manually in the INI files though without success for some reason, it doesn't seem to save, on the other hand I tried setting up my gamepad as a nunchuck, is there any way to reduce the sensibility of the IR controls?

Thanks again. Smile

Cheers, you can even create per-game control profile, take a look at third floor of http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-issues-with-analog-stick-sensitivity
The guides there are for Gamecube, for Wii game, the folder name is Wiimote and the words should add in game.ini is WiimoteProfile1 = xx(whatever names)

Just replace those Shake values with classic control button values inside wiimoteNew.ini , tilt, swing also replaceable,
example:
Classic/Buttons/ZL = `Button 307`
Shake/Z = `Button 307`
Classic/Buttons/Y = `Button 303`
Nunchuk/Shake/Z = `Button 303`
hide ir:
IR/Auto-Hide = True
