Extreme Netplay Desyncing issues [Brawl] - Nuckshock - 08-24-2018
I'm trying to play Smash bros Brawl with a friend, but something weird happens when we try to use netplay, everything works connection wise, but both our games are extremely not in sync.
When I'm not using Netplay, Brawl uses a completely different save then when I am, and so is my friend. Every time we try to play Netplay, he gets a prompt that he needs to create a new save file, and I have all my characters unlocked even though I haven't done that.
And even when we are in a match, other stuff is unsynced like where we spawn on the stage, so none of our positions are correct, even though are inputs are working correctly.
I've tried to delete all save data for brawl and when I boot it up outside of netplay it shows that I don't have a save, but when I play netplay there's suddenly a save where I have all the characters unlocked, and I know it's not cheats because I've tried with it both disabled and enabled.
And my friend always has to create a new save file on launch in netplay, but not when he's not using it.
And I have to repeat that other than that, the inputs from both of us work perfectly but to me this makes extremely little sense and I would love some help.

Download one of the latest developer builds and click on the "Load Wii Save" and "Sync Saves" box in the netplay menu and it'll automatically share your save data with your friend. Also make sure both of you have cheats turned off.

It won't, because the save syncing only works with GameCube saves.

Save Syncing does work with Wii games actually.

You're right, I'm mistaken. Why does the code sync the Wii saves into GC_MEMCARD_NETPLAY, that confused me
